About Rotator Cuff Muscles
The shoulder joint is held mainly by the biceps tendon, triceps tendon, and rotator cuff, which is formed by the tendons of the supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres Minor, and Subscapularis (Usually referred to by the SITS acronym).
The most common shoulder pain, besides Frozen Shoulder, is related to the rotator cuff
- The causes: Fall on the shoulder, chronic overstrain (Swimmer’s shoulder or pitcher’s shoulder), or lifting a heavy object
Category: Rotator cuff tear (partial or total), Rotator cuff tendonitis, and bursitis
Normal Treatments:
- PRICE (Protection, Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevation). For the shoulder, elevation is not necessary.
- Pain killer to stop the pain (weMED use an herbal pain killer or hot towel to stop the pain)
- Steroid injections (may work for some patients, but the steroid should never be injected directly into the tendon).
- For a total tear, surgery is usually needed.
Why is the pain so bad?
There are many Arm Nerves.
weMED Treatment
- Tuina, acupressure is very effective to improve blood circulation and reduce swelling
- Acupuncture and Moxibustion are two of the best treatments for fresh and chronic injuries, they can reduce inflammation and shorten the healing length of time.
- Umbilical cord tissue cells will be an excellent repairing tool for partial tears and tendonitis.
