Cortisol and Hormone Analysis – Benefits
Every process in your body is driven by hormones. Did you know that? Hormones balance all your body’s processes by regulating the chemicals that control those processes. Groovy, right? All your hormones must be in proper balance to make sure they are doing their jobs and not interfering with any other parts that are doing their jobs. Estrogen, Testosterone, Progesterone, and Cortisol are some of the hormonal heavy-hitters, which drive this balance the most and are also the most reactive to stress.
Very often, clients with weight-gain or stress will find a correlation to those symptoms within your hormone function. Even if you don’t have a weight problem, other symptoms like fatigue, insomnia, or even brain fog can be related to hormones. Being able to address or eliminate this possible reason for these symptoms and many others is a powerful tool to get to the real reasons for your symptoms.
You provide several samples throughout the day to paint a full picture of your hormone levels over the course of a full day. This is a good augmentation to the fasting glucose tests that only look at your hormones in the morning. Using only that approach doesn’t get to the full story of how your hormones and cortisol work together as you eat, exercise, and go through your normal routine.
Often, our clients who take prescription medications to regulate these symptoms are able to reduce or eliminate their medications. This is because we help you heal your body to such an extent that you no longer fit the diagnostic criteria that leads your prescribing physician to give you the prescription. We do not, ourselves, ever suggest that you stop taking any prescribed medications, but as you improve your health, we do encourage our clients to be retested by your doctors to make sure you’re still on the right doses.
