Your knees are stabilized by anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), lateral collateral ligament (LCL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and the huge patella ligament. There are two major cartilage pads between the tibia and femur, they are called meniscus. Aging or injury causes our cartilage to become worn out and end up becoming bone on bone, this situation is called knee osteoarthritis. More than 20% of men and women over 55 suffer from osteoarthritis.

1. Knee replacement is recommended to Ms. Jenny.

We took Jenny’s bilateral knee x-ray on December 10, 2018. Because both knees are bone on bone, she was referred for bilateral knee replacements by her orthopedic doctor due to osteoarthritis.

2. Ms. Jenny was scared of knee replacement

Ms. Jenny had to take care of her mother-in-law, and feared it wouldn’t be possible for her to be immobile for 3- 6 weeks.

3. Ms. Jenny has avoided knee replacement as her knee cartilage is regrown!

While working with Dr. Camille George and Dr. Bing You (who is certified Cellular Therapy by American Association of Blood Banks), Ms. Jenny received a regenerative medicine injection and therapy at weMED Clinic on the same day that the x-ray was taken. The procedure only took about 30 minutes and she returned to her normal life.

The pain in the knees reduced the next day and gradually she began to feel better and better. She felt the pain was mostly eliminated and mobility was mostly restored. Today, she has little pain when going up and downstairs.

From x-ray taken on June 21, 2019, 6 months after weMED regenerative medicine treatment, it shows that the space in the knees are enlarged due to cartilage growth.
